Supply Chain Education
KC SmartPort has spearheaded a supply chain education initiative that has brought those involved in the transportation and logistics industry in Kansas City together with area educational institutions to identify the training needs for the industry.
Kansas City has traditionally been a transportation hub due to its geography in the center of the U.S. and access to all major modes of transportation. In addition to the growth of manufacturing and distribution centers in the region, four large intermodal projects are being developed that will create thousands of jobs. Currently there are several local training programs in the area that offer training to educate the workforce to be skilled for the current and upcoming jobs in the transportation and logistics industry.
